Wrapping around the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, the Rooftop Restaurant and Bar span the top of this architecturally redesigned 1930s building. The double height space seats up to 150 people. During the day floor-to-ceiling windows on all three sides bathes the dining room in glorious natural light and most tables enjoy views across the Bancroft Gardens or the River Avon. The design is contemporary, with a nod to the Art Deco style of the original building and includes many reclaimed features from the old theatre.
The restaurant opens daily from 11.30am (12 noon on Sundays); serving freshly prepared and simply cooked modern British food in informal surroundings throughout the day and into the evening. Ingredients are seasonal and include, wherever possible, produce from the nearby Vale of Evesham and the Cotswolds. A children’s menu is also available. Whether it’s a light meal, a family lunch, a drink in our bar, a pre or post theatre meal or a night out with friends, the restaurant is for everyone looking for an informal atmosphere with great food and friendly service in unique surroundings.
