Where is it?
Number 37, opposite the Bell pub in the centre of Shottery, Stratford-upon-Avon.

What is it?
A small family run Italian restaurant. The food is cooked by Enzo Auricchio and his team, and front of house is lead by his wife Patsy.

What makes it different?
Patsy makes you feel like a family friend round for dinner. Enzo often picks up his guitar after he’s finished cooking and entertains the guests in the dining area.

Our experience
We have been there on a number of occasions and always seem to sit in the same seat which makes us feel really welcome. It is a bit of a gamble as to whether you are going to get a quiet romantic evening or end up singing happy birthday to another table, so it’s worth checking when you book! Saturday nights tend to be the lively ones.

Last night we both started off with the Antipasto. If you are lucky enough to have Patsy serve you this she will brilliantly describe each item of food to you as she delicately drizzles olive oil over the top. Your mouth will be watering by the time she’s finished! I then chose the Fillet Steak topped with Dolcelatte which was beautiful and cooked to melt in my mouth. My partner had the pork stuffed with Parma ham and sage which he adores and finds difficult to choose anything else! At this point we had had more than enough to eat but felt that if we waited a little while then we could just about manage to share a portion of Enzo’s Tiramisu. What a great decision. I’ve eaten many Tiramisus in my life but this has to top them all. It’s to die for!

As I said, we’d been there before and we’ll keep going back. Probably the best Italian in Warwickshire.… if you don’t mind a lively atmosphere!
