Café Violette - Restaurants in Stratford upon Avon
What is it?
Cafe Violette is a cosy French bistro based in the village of Long Marston, a few miles outside of Stratford. They offer locally sourced food and drink, breakfast, lunch and candlelit dinner. They also boast a relaxing garden in the summer and Victorian log burning stove for a cosy, romantic setting in the winter. A glance at their menu shows that they offer a very French style menu of simple, well cooked food, adding a touch of je ne sais quoi to Stratford’s eating establishments.

This place is soooo pretty. A real must to visit if you’re out that way.Cakes and food are delicious and the setting is really unique. My husband and I used to pop in to sit and read the papers. Must do that again someday soon!

I have to give feedback on Cafe violette.
The food is sumply amazing, the prices are extremely reasonable and the ambience is superb.
Don’t just drop in for a cup of tea and a cake – try a meal. You really won’t be disappointed

My wife and I visited Violet Cafe for the first time at the weekend. Beautiful food, friendly waitress’s.
The only trouble was all the decor was very dusty and dirty. Lamp shades. Faded pictures and plates, old dusty dried flowers and bird nest displays. In terrible need of a good clean and refreshment a far as decor is concerned. Could make one think, if all the tat is dirty, what is the kitchen like?
So recommended for food and friendlyness not for freshness of seating area.

Walked into Violettes Cafe at 3.45pm,and immediately we got told by a lady that we could come in for a drink and cake but that they closed at 4.00pm. I ask you what cafe closes at 4pm on a Friday afternoon. Any we said we only wanted tea and cake. The said lady then left. We sat down and our order was taken immediately. Drinks and cake arrived which was lovely. However within 10 minutes we heard a huge sigh and someone said very loudly that they wished we would hurry up as they wanted to go home. They then immediately came out to take the plates away, and although we asked for the bill at the same time despite the fact that we had not finished drinking our tea, the bill was already coming before the girl taking our plates had left the table and the second girl said “We are closing now”. It was no later than 2 minutes past 4. We have never been anywhere where the staff are so rude and also felt so unwelcome. We will never go back again or recommend it to anyone.

After spending a very pleasent few hours wondering around Barn Anquites with friends and family we decided a cup of tea was needed.
On entering a very charming cafe we where told “we wil be closing in 15min” Having vast experience in the catering trade this usually means you are welcome to order from a limited menu and stay until you have finished whilst the staff tidy up.Not you must of ordered, eaten and drunk your purchase and be gone by closing time!! I was speechless when we over heard the staff talking very loudly about how desperate they where to go home. Our plates where taken as our cake forks made contact with our plates.Again we wher told we are now closed . This was at 2 min past 4pm. My son asked for the bill, which was put on the table by the waitress stood behind the one clearing plates. This was one of the worst examples of customer service I have ever experienced.
I wasn’t alllowed to finish my tea, which we had paid for!!
We would not come back
