Where is it?
In Chapel Street, Welford on Avon, just opposite the Maypole in the centre of the village - 4 miles from Stratford upon Avon.

What is it?
A Country Pub that serves excellent quality “Best of British” food, yet still a pub that serves a good selection of cask ales with an above average Wine List. Open every day with normal pub hours – lovely country garden where you can enjoy traditional English Afternoon Teas.

What makes it different?
The pub has a style that reflects the high standards of the owners, Ashley and Louise Gargan. If your local pub had a “makeover” this is probably what you would want it to be. It’s all about high Customer Satisfaction Standards, quality local ingredients, in a lovely rural setting. Lots of themed events and a “can do” philosophy in catering for all celebrations and events.

Our experience
We visited for a family gathering which included two young children and an elderly relative. The staff were extremely welcoming and catered for all our needs and idiosyncrasies. Small portions of most items on the menu were offered immediately. We had a choice of the Sunday roast menu (one two or three courses) alongside the regular lunchtime menu. Service was extremely efficient and drinks were brought to our table as and when required. The majority opted for the roasts which were beautifully cooked and served with plenty of fresh vegetables to go around. The puddings went down a treat with sticky toffee pudding being the favorite option. (Some said the portion was a little on the small side, but considering the calories it was probably just enough!) We all left feeling very content. I haven't seen Grandma eat that much in ages...it must be good!
